Joint Academic Appointments at UC Berkeley - Guidelines

SPECIAL CONDITIONS must be observed before initiating negotiations with the prospective employee who is:

Employed by another campus of the University of California - INTERCAMPUS RECRUITMENT
NOTE: If the candidate is transferring from another UC campus, the Dean must notify the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Faculty Welfare as soon as possible in order to notify the other campus of the impending offer by the April 1 deadline.

Employed by an American Association University (AAU) - APM 500-16c and APM 500, Appendix A
NOTE: If the candidate is from an AAU, the Dean must notify the Vice Provost as soon as possible in order to notify the other institution of the impending offer by the April 30 deadline.
If the candidate will hold a joint appointment in two or more departments within the same college, or different colleges, the home department prepares the dossier and coordinates the review with the other department(s)
